Local retailers are rallying together to get more shoppers down the high street.

The Worcester Park Key magazine will be sent to residents and shop owners, making them aware of independent businesses in the area.

The publication comes with a free loyalty card offering deals at stores on Worcester Park High Street.

Over 30 local businesses will be listed in the magazine, including restaurants, opticians, school shops and menswear.

The retailers have clubbed together after seeing a marked reduction in customers visiting the high street.

The campaign was launched by independent business owner Raj Jain, who has been running Preview Menswear for 20 years.

He said: "Over the years we have noticed a drop in footfall, so we just want to show people that we are here.

"People need to know this is a good high street.

"There is a lot customers can benefit from and enjoy, so I hope the loyalty card will encourage them to come down."

The initiative starts on the week beginning June 6, when 10,000 copies will be dished out throughout the area.
