A group of dedicated fundraisers from Walton are celebrating raising £100,000 in five years for Cancer Research UK.

The committee began raising money for the charity in 2009 and the milestone amount was raised through their annual children’s fun run, little legs for life and pink party.

Nancy Scott, chairman of the Walton committee said the group was incredibly proud of their achievement and could not have done so without the support of the community.

Jenny Flack, Cancer Research UK’s fundraising manager for north Surrey, said: “I would like to thank Walton committee, for the fantastic amount they have raised and the massive contribution they have made to our vital work over the past five years.”

The group have not stopped at the £100,000 amount, with preparations underway for the sixth little legs for live event, which takes place in June.
