A major police search involving a helicopter and a boat was launched after a man wearing just a pair of socks and a t-shirt was seen running towards a lake.
The police were called just before 5.30pm yesterday to a report of a white man, naked apart from his socks and t-shirt, running towards the lakes at The Hamptons, Worcester Park.
Police officers started a major search of the area on the ground and were joined by the Metropolitan Police’s air support unit and the marine unit – who searched the lake in a dinghy.
The London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service also attended but the search was called off just after 7.40pm after no trace of the half naked man was seen.
Police were called to the area by security staff at The Hamptons after receiving a call from a member of the public.
