A car burst into flames on a main road in Esher yesterday morning.
A fire crew from Walton were called to the scene after the Ford Ka was engulfed in flames in Lammas Lane at 10.45am on Sunday, January 12.
A Walton firefighter said: “It was well alight when we turned up and we used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels.”
The blaze was extinguished within 45 minutes and there were no injuries, the firefighter said.
Tim Jenkins, who witnessed the fire, said: “What you saw [in the photos] is what you got. Apparently the couple who were driving fled and managed to get out of it.
“The fire brigade got it out really quickly and no one was hurt. It was all over fairly quickly really.”
