Eight suspects were arrested as police cracked down on people bringing drugs into the borough via the train station.
Officers focused on Sutton station during a four hour drugs operation on Friday, December 20. Eight people were arrested, five on suspicion of possession of class A drugs, two on suspicion of possession of cannabis and one on suspicion of possession of speed. All eight have either been charged or cautioned. Six further people were given cannabis warnings.
Among those arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession was a 20-year-old from Albania who has been placed in the custody of the UK Border Agency.
Sergeant Simon Alexander said: "It was a successful evening and further operations are planned to keep the Town Centre a safe place."
