Eight fire engines were called to a blaze at The Heart yesterday afternoon.
Fire crews were called at 1.30pm on Sunday, December 29, after a fire broke out in an extractor fan within a residential property.
Firefighters from Esher, Painshill, Sunbury and Staines were among those called to the New Zealand Avenue complex and were at the scene until about 3pm.
An Esher firefighter said everyone in the building was accounted for.
In July this year, 57-year-old Louis Bowen died after a flat caught fire in the complex above the Walton shopping centre in the early hours of Wednesday, July 3.
