Former Crystal Palace, Sutton United and Carshalton Althletic players have appeared in court charged with match fixing.
Croydon men Michael Boateng and Hakeem Adelakun, who most recently played for Brighton Club Whitehawk FC but have been sacked, accused of taking part in a conspiracy to defraud bookmakers.
Boateng, of Davidson Road, Croydon, and Adelakun, of Mayfield Crescent, Thornton Heath, both 22, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court this morning.
It is alleged the pair conspired with two other men to influence the course of football matches in Manchester and elsewhere between November 1 and November 26.
Adelakun is a former Crystal Palace youth team player and was a regular for Carshalton Athletic last season. Boateng also started out at Crystal Palace and also played for Carshalton Athletic and Sutton United.
Chann Sankaran, 33, of Hawthorn Road, Hastings, East Sussex and Krishna Sanjey Ganeshan, 43, of Hougang Avenue, Singapore, appeared alongside the players.
The group have been bailed to return to the same court to enter pleas on March 7.
