A songwriter who has penned hits for pop stars including Nicki Minaj, One Direction and JLS gave a talk to students at the BRIT school this week.

Wayne Hector, who wrote Westlife song Flying Without Wings, The Wanted's All Time Low and One Direction's Best Song Ever spent Tuesday afternoon at the Selhurst school, speaking with students about song-writing and working in the music industry.

Mr Hector known to some as the unofficial king of boy band, has a career spanning decades and not one successful British boy band hasn't benefited from his song writing.

During the visit Mr Hector spoke of his unique experience in the music industry.

Speaking after the workshop he said: "I was thrilled to be invited to BRIT school and it was a privilege to help some amazing young talents from the school.

"It was truly inspiring and I hoped to inspire a future generation of songwriters."
