Two talented young brothers have scooped the honours in an MP's Christmas card competition.

Tom and Zak Ade-Parsons, aged 10 and seven, who go to Wallace Fields Junior School, Ewell, each won a category in the competition to create this year's card for Chris Grayling MP.

Zak won the 4-7 year old category, with Natasha Cook, aged 6, as the runner-up and Tom won the 8-11 year old category, while Joss Thompson, also 10, was the runner-up.

Tom was named as the competition’s overall winner and his design will be sent by the MP to community groups, public service organisations, local charities and Prime Minister David Cameron and his cabinet.

The 41 entries from local primary schools wowed the judges Mr Grayling, MP and the University of the Creative Arts’ Vice Chancellor, Simon Ofield-Kerr.

Mr Grayling said: "Tom Ade-Parsons is the worthy winner of my ‘Design a Christmas Card Competition 2013’.

"Once again I was really impressed with the high level of entries we received and it was a difficult decision to choose an overall winner. Thank you to all the schools and pupils who participated."

Mr Ofield-Kerr added: "It’s always great fun to see how local school children expand on the Christmas theme.

"The diversity of the entries made for a truly enjoyable experience - there’s a lot of talent out there and it’s really important that we nourish the creativity of our children."
