The car was discovered buring in Roundshaw playing fields
Firefighters tackled a burning car left abandoned in playing fields in Wallington last night.
The car, believed to be a Fiat hatchback, was discovered well alight in Roundshaw Park playing fields, off Hannibal Way, at 9pm.
Firefighters from Wallington put out the blaze.
One firefighter said: "It was a shell by the time we got there."
