Mitcham drivers Keith Conlon and his stable-mate Wayne Turner are in action tonight in round five of the Refine Metals Banger League.
Conlon suffered disappointment at the World banger final in Ipswich recently, and so is coming to the Wimbledon Raceway determined to make a point.
The duo started the league with wins, but have dropped off the pace ahead of tonight’s meeting (5.30pm).
Topping the bill is the grand final of the stock rods in the Polleysport/Yokohama Tyres series.
After 14 rounds, Tristan Jackson starts as the favourite, although Andy Sturt, just 18 points behind, will push him all the way.
Heading the rest of the chasing pack is the experienced Stuart Smyth, closely followed by rising star Luke Oliver.
The nostalgic historic stock cars will also be racing on Sunday, with plenty of classic Triumphs and Fords doing battle and reliving their former glories.
Young driver Tom Chapman from Seaford will hope to continue his recent good run of form that saw him win the Gala Night final at Arlington last week.
