I am writing to thank The Royal Marsden Hospital's remarkable volunteers, who have so generously given their time, talent and energy to us over the past year.
We held a volunteers thank you party in Sutton on Wednesday, December 6, as a small token of our appreciation.
More than 80 volunteers provide an invaluable service to the hospital's fundraising department, doing everything from dealing with the post, to coin counting, to running our charity stall.
Ranging in age from 40-years-old to their mid 80s, these volunteers are the backbone of the hospital's Cancer Campaign - which has raised millions of pounds to date.
This money goes straight to where it is needed most, helping people who are fighting cancer right now.
The Royal Marsden Hospital was the first in the world dedicated to cancer treatment and research, and more than 40,000 patients are seen at its Sutton and Chelsea sites each year.
Our volunteers are a wonderfully enthusiastic bunch. They are cheerful, dedicated and will drop everything to come to our rescue when we need them.
We could not do without them and we give them our heartfelt thanks.
