A Sanderstead barber and DJ wants Croydon Guardian readers to help with her latest business venture - by suggesting a name for a salon.

Jacqui Marola, 42, has worked in Scruffs and Toffs in Limpsfield Road for a year and also DJs part time at nightspots around Croydon, including CRO Bar and Bar Latino.

She has always wanted a salon so when Scruffs and Toffs owner Kerry White decided to hang up her scissors there was an obvious replacement waiting in the wings.

The mother of two said: "This salon is a completely new venture. I am a barber by trade and worked in Scruffs and Toffs when the previous owner had it.

"My children go to school in Sanderstead and I live in the area, so it is perfect for me. The timing was right and I thought it was about time I grew up and took a risk with something. I know so many people in the area so hopefully it will all work out."

Jacqui has no idea what to call her new venture and is open to any suggestions our readers may have.

She added: "I had a really long think about it and decided to call it Jack's, but I went to an opening party of a friend's salon and realised she had called hers Jack's.

"I just thought it would be a really good thing for people to help me come up with a name for the new salon. I'll give whoever chooses the winning name a free hair cut and blow dry."
