An angler's premonition he would catch a big fish came true when he hauled in a world record carp on a holiday to Thailand.
Carshalton man Keith Williams visited Gillhams Fishing Resorts in Krabi with his friends and family to celebrate his 56th birthday and hoped to catch a large fish as the venue is famed for its big freshwater fish.
But he did not bargain on landing a 134lb Siamese carp and smashing the previous world record of 114lb.

Ex-pat Stuart Gillham, who runs the resort, said: "Keith went to bed in the evening of his fourth day but could not sleep. At 4am on October 10 Keith was sitting on his balcony with his wife Boo overlooking the moonlit lake. He said to Boo he could feel in his bones that today was going to be his lucky day and he was going to catch a special fish."
Mr Williams hauled in the giant at 1.30pm that day following a 25 minute fight.

The group celebrated Mr Williams' birthday that night and they were presented with a special cake commemorating occasion and the monster catch.
