Croydon Ladies 4
Wimbledon 2
Croydon ladies produced another startling display against Wimbledon seconds to steal a deserved victory.
Julie Worthington set the quality bar high with a looping shot that found the top right-hand corner.
Wimbledon responded with swift passes, opening up the left side of the pitch to slot a goal past the keeper.
Not to be out done Lisa Chalk grabbed her opportunity and reverse-stick flicked it between the keeper's pads.
However celebrations were short-lived as Wimbledon refused to be stifled and took a further goal to even the score into the half-time.
Croydon did well to maintain the momentum, using short passes, good team awareness and solid support play.
With 10 minutes to go, Annalie Thomasson was fed the ball in a short corner routine to crack the shot into the back of the goal.
Once on track, Annalie was not to be deterred and minutes later she found the back of the goal again.
Croydon close 2006 in fifth position and their style of play sees them as serious contenders for the top spots.
