A bicycle business is shutting up shop after 87 years trading.
The managers of Holdsworth Cycles, in Lower Richmond Road, Putney, have cited competition with online traders as the reason for its closure.
It was first opened in 1927 by William Frank Holdsworth, selling cycles and offering repair services ever since.
But the business has been struggling in the recession, with more customers choosing to buy their bicycles online.
There are four members of staff, including a mechanic for repairs.
Sam Shonleben, manager, said: "The economics over the last few years meant we could not continue.
"It has been Holdsworth for 87 years, before that it was Ashlands Cycle Works."
It is expected the shop will close by the end of October, with stock reduced by 50 per cent until then.
Six cycling shops have also opened in the area, two Putney Cycles, Halfords, Sports Direct, Velosport and Cycle2Station.
Customers have been posting their tributes to the closing shop.
Mike Stead wrote: "Holdsworth Cycles in Putney to close. Today is a sad, sad day."
