Grateful students visited Epsom fire station to pay thanks to the firefighters who put out a blaze at their school this summer.
Ewell Castle Junior School pupils who are based in Glyn House, opposite the school's castle building in Church Street, Ewell, made the trip to Epsom’s firefighters at their station in Church Street, Epsom, on Monday, September 30.
Accompanied by headteacher Mrs M Phillips, the children presented the firefighters with chocolates and a thank you card which the students at the school had made and signed.
Epsom’s fire officers were called to Glyn House on August 5 after a fire started in its roof, causing minor damage.
A spokeswoman for the school said: "After a tour of the fire station, the children persuaded the firefighters to bring their fire engine to the school later this year so that the rest of the pupils can have the opportunity of meeting a firefighter and looking inside a fire engine."
