Unison members from Elmbridge Council took strike action against low pay along with fellow members from across Surrey.
The strikers came out in force on Thursday, November 30, outside the SCC headquarters in Penrhyn Road, Kingston, after rejecting a pay offer from Surrey County Council.
SCC Unison members voted for strike action, because they rejected the council's pay offer of two per cent backdated to April in a ballot which closed on November 22.
SCC paid staff the two per cent increase in their November pay-packets, although the union has put in a claim for four per cent.
SCC chief executive Martin Shaw said the council believed the pay offer was fair.
There were no reports of major disruptions to services such as libraries, schools, trading standards and social services, during the day of action.
