A man has admitted attacking his partner in the middle of a supermarket by punching her face and then ramming her with a trolley.
Nicholas Winyard assaulted his then-girlfriend in Asda, Sutton High Street, after a row over who was going to pay for a taxi escalated on August 21.
Winyard, of Shaftesbury Road, Carshalton punched her in the side of the face and told her "don't speak to me like I'm a piece of s***", Croydon magistrates heard yesterday.
The court heard the victim then went to the toilet but another argument happened when she came out.
This ended with Winyard ramming a trolley into her. Police were called to the store and Winyard was arrested.
Winyard, who attended court wearing shorts, trainers and a polo-shirt, admitted one count of assault.
The case was adjourned for sentencing on September 26 in order for a pre-sentencing report to be prepared.
