A firefighter's curry house has been crowned London's best takeaway at this year’s English Curry Awards.
K2, in Durnsford Road, Wimbledon Park, received the honour on Monday, September 1, at a ceremony in Manchester.
Owner Nasir Jilani, who also serves full time as a fire fighter at Tooting station, said it was a "fantastic achievement".
He said: "It was a shock just to be nominated let alone win the top award against some of the toughest competition in the country.
"It is a truly proud day for me, my family and our team.
"We would to thank our loyal customers for nominating us, without them it would not have been possible.
"We hope we have made Wimbledon proud!"
K2 is a family run business and opened in 1991.
