Sundays are bliss as the S4 bus does not run.
In reply to JM Bonney who says they have spent many years sending "petitions and detailed letters" to get a bus nearer to their house. Why? Instead of spending years complaining they should have moved nearer to one.
Also my hearing must be more acute than theirs because these buses are extremely noisy, expensive fuel guzzling, air polluting vehicles which run 76 times a day past my home from 6.20am until the last one at 12.50am. Outside of rush hours and early mornings these buses run nearly or completely empty. These buses are uneconomic as most of its passengers are non-paying school children and over 60s so who pays - us council tax payers.
The Government say we are becoming an obese nation, so those of us that can walk why not walk to the pre-S4 bus routes which are only five to 10 minutes walk away giving us good exercise. For those unfortunate elderly people unable to walk far bring back Dial A Ride, and get rid of the S4.
