Am I alone in finding it a bit odd that the local Primary Care Trust are planning to put the new Stanwell surgery upstairs in the new day centre (assuming, of course, that the Stanwell New Start plans goes forward)?

Many of the people who attend your average GP are arthritic or have other mobility problems.

Young mums with kids in tow are also likely to be less than pleased with the thought of lumbering buggies up flights of stairs.

It is, of course, true that two lifts are planned. However, given the likely high use of these and the likelihood for machinery to go wrong, I wonder how much of the time they will actually be in commission?

So to the PCT I would say: Think again. Speak nicely to the council and see if you can't be downstairs instead.
