Police have released CCTV images of a man who may have information about the theft of a mobile phone from a tram passenger.
The incident happened at 8.20am on Saturday August 10, when the victim, a 30-year-old man from Mitcham, was travelling on a tram towards New Addington.
The man had the mobile on his lap and when the tram stopped at Gravel Hill a man got up from his seat, grabbed the victim's phone and ran away.
Detectives from British Transport Police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident and are calling on the public to help identify him.
Detective Sergeant Bob Stokoe said: "If you recognise the man pictured, or know his whereabouts then please get in touch."
The appeal comes as the force last week launched Operation Magnum, a campaign to help rail passengers keep valuables safe from pickpockets, gadget-grabbers and luggage thieves.
