Detective Constable Darryl Donaghue, said: "It is not known if any criminal offence has taken place or not but we are keen to establish the full circumstances surrounding how the woman received her injuries and I would appeal to anyone who has any information which would assist with our investigation to contact us.

"I would like to speak with the man who handed the handbag back into the pub as I need to establish where and when it was found.

"I would ask anyone who believes they have seen the woman making her way home to contact us with details.”
