A mysterious ramshackle collection of cupboards, plant pots and wardrobes has appeared on the corner of a quiet residential street.
The odd pile of furniture appeared on Crescent Lane, Clapham at the start of the month sparking curious debate among residents.
Neighbours have said they have seen a man bringing the furniture there in the evenings, but have no idea as to why.
Police visited the site on Saturday morning but the dwelling has not been removed.
Mark Woodroffe, who lives on Crescent Lane, said: "He has been evolving the place over the last week or so. I can't work why he is there.
"Maybe a spare room tax protest or just an eccentric. Either way, it's kind of cool."
Eric Albert, a freelance journalist, said: "There have been emails going around for a week or so. I went yesterday to see, but there was no one there. People are bothered about it."
