Dear Sirs,

We hear so many bad reports about the NHS, GPs and Croydon University Hospital that I felt I really should put the other side of the picture and record my recent experience.

On 18th July I visited my GP, who was concerned about my symptoms and referred me for blood tests at his surgery and also an ultrasound examination, which took place on 25th July at CUH, with the results on his desk the next day. As the ultrasound confirmed his concerns I was then referred to a gynaecological consultant who I saw on 7th August and who in turn referred me urgently to the Day Surgery Unit for an exploratory operation to verify the diagnosis and resolve the problem. This operation was successfully carried out on 14th August.

So from initial diagnosis to successful surgery took less than a month. Everyone I met at every stage of this anxious time was not just competent, professional and efficient but also caring, reassuring and made time to explain every step of the treatment, answer my questions and address my worries. The departments were spotlessly clean and modern and the medical facilities excellent.

I would like to thank everyone involved my treatment for their expertise and compassion, and for making a difficult time so much easier for me.

Sincerely,

Mrs Lynnda Robson
