A host of stars are set to help The Battersea Arts Centre celebrate its 120th anniversary this autumn.
The centre, on Lavender Hill, first opened in 1893 as the Battersea Town Hall but was converted into an arts centre in 1974.
Artist Adrian Howells, performing arts group Coney and musician Kazuko Hohki, who all began their careers at the centre, will return, alongside new commissions and up and coming performers.
The anniversary will also introduce audio tours that describe the political and historical heritage of the building.
Another way the centre is celebrating is by asking the public to nominate 120 personalities associated with the building for recognition.
Names raised include Vivienne Westwood, who is a Battersea resident and a long-standing supporter of the Battersea Arts Centre, Robert Webb, who used some of his early sketches at the BAC before gaining success in the Peep Show, and the suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst.
