Four aspiring politicians will battle it out for a council seat in Colliers Wood tomorrow as polling stations count up your votes.

Candidates include Caroline Cooper-Marbiah for Labour, Shafqat Janjua for UKIP, Peter Lord for the Conservatives and Phil Ling for the Liberal Democrats.

The byelection was triggered following the death of Labour Councillor Gam Gurung, of Colliers Wood, who died on Monday, June 24, after a six month battle with cancer.

Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on Thursday with each resident in Colliers Wood registered to one of five polling stations.

You must vote at your registered polling station which can be determined on your polling card posted to you, or by visiting merton.gov.uk/council/voting/howtovote and searching for your street.

• St Joseph’s Church Hall, High Street, Colliers Wood, SW19 2JF

• Christ Church Hall, Christchurch Road, SW19 2NW

• Positive Network Centre, Taylor Road, Mitcham, CR4 3JR

• Abbey Orchard Community Room, Singleton Close, SW17 9JZ
