Firefighters cut free a man trapped in a car after a crash on the motorway last night.
Cars crashed between junction 8 and junction 9, to Leatherhead, on the M25 at around midnight.
A Leatherhead fire station spokesman said: "Two cars smashed into each other.
"We had to cut the roof and side off a car and got him out on a spinal board."
A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said a man in his 50s was taken to East Surrey Hospital with back pain.
He said: "He was placed in a neck collar and on a long board for potential injuries."
