A man has appeared in court today after alleged threats were made to set fire to himself and his house on Sunday.
James Michael Keegan, 23, of Chipstead Way, Banstead, appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court this today charged with threatening to commit criminal damage, common assault, criminal damage and resisting arrest.
A Surrey Police spokesman said: "Surrey Police attended an address off Outwood Lane, in Banstead, at 2.15pm on Sunday, August 4, following reports that a man inside a property was threatening to harm himself and damage the building.
"Officers quickly attended the scene and arrested a man in his 20s."
Mr Keegan was remanded in custody following his arrest.
