A downpour did not dampen the spirits of care home residents who took a party indoors on Friday.
Typical British weather thwarted plans to hold a Blighty-themed party in the garden at Sunrise of Banstead, in Croydon Lane.
Nevertheless the party, inspired by what is great about Britain, was still a success with Pimms, Martin Charles playing the saxophone, giant garden games like Jenga and face painting.
Debbie Self, director of community relations, said: "The weather had been lovely on Thursday but then it was a total wash out on Friday.
"That didn’t stop us though, we moved everything indoors and laughed about how very British is was."
