Grease was the word for hundreds of people who packed Sutton High Street to enjoy a special screening of a classic musical.

There was standing room only as Successful Sutton screened 1970s romance Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John on Saturday night.

Successful Sutton, the organisation that aims to unite the town centre's businesses to improve trade, launched Sunset Cinema last month.

It is the first time an outdoor cinema with a projection screen has been set up in a London high street and two further screenings are planned for this week and next.

On Wednesday film fans will be treated to the classic Michael J. Fox time travel film Back to the Future.

And on Wednesday, August, 14, the season of screenings will close with a showing of The Italian Job, starring Michael Caine.

All the films are free and start at 9pm.

There is a limited number of deckchairs available bat each screening but people are encouraged to bring their own picnic blankets in case they run out.
