A building was set alight in Oxshott in a suspected arson.

Firefighters from Esher and Epsom fire stations were called to Zolf House in Oxshott Road at 7am on Sunday, August 4.

The fire is believed to have started in a brick outbuilding before spreading into the roof of the property, which has been repossessed.

Watch manager Sean Tickner said the fire was burning vigorously when they arrived at the scene.

Three fire engines were sent to the blaze and four sets breathing apparatus, several hose reels and a main jet were used to extinguish the flames.

Crews were on site until about 10am and police were also called.

An investigation into the fire is still ongoing.
