A rave attended by 3,000 to 6,000 revellers disrupted a quiet neighbourhood over the weekend.

The Temple of Noise Party started at 11pm on Saturday evening and took place in a disused warehouse in Groton Road, Earlsfield.

Neighbours living in the area said they could hear music blasting from speakers until 11am on Sunday morning, with some partygoers thought to still be in the venue.

A mess of alcohol bottles and empty balloons, believed to have been filled with laughing gas, were left at the scene.

Police were called as well as the Wandsworth Council noise team, but they were unable to shut down the huge rave.

Organisers Valhalla, Origin UK and Art Of Psy charged attendees £10-£15 entry, while the warehouse was decked out with wall hangings and lasers.

The event was publicised through Facebook, with more than 2,200 people clicking attending.

Ashley Chisholm, an IT contractor, of Algrave Road, said: "They were handing out balloons with laughing gas, smashed bottles around the street.

"I can't imagine what it must have been like to live in houses directly across the building, it was booming in my loft at 10.30am.

"It is massively anti-social, local residents will want to know why the police were not able to close it down."

Neighbours also took to social media websites to vent their frustrations at the noise, but were met with angry responses from ravers openly bragging about their drug use.

Earlsfield SW_18 tweeted: "Earlsfield party bassline is so loud I can hear it in my house streets away."

But @distantce said: "You boring old people need to realise how it is to be young."

Michael Max Castle, writing on Facebook said: "Amazing. Great Venue. Great acts. Keep these raves going.

"Sign the petition, what's the old saying 'F**k Politics...Let's Skank.' Amazing Night."
