Croydon South MP Richard Ottaway has again expressed his concern at the lengthy delay of the construction of the new Purley Hospital.
Plans for a state-of-the-art revamp of the Purley War Memorial were first revealed in 2001 - but five years on the proposals have still to come to fruition.
Last December Mr Ottaway called for the board of Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust to resign over the delays.
And he has again voiced his disapproval over the delay to the £10million project.
The Tory MP said: "The key point is that the matter is in the hands of the developers. The Government made a pledge about the hospital nine years ago, yet we still do not have a firm date."
Rosie Winterton, minister of state for the health services, told Mr Ottaway the chief executive of Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust, Helen Walley, had said the project was "moving forward".
