Firefighters helped rescue a kitten who had got its head trapped in its cage door early this morning.
The crew from Wimbledon fire station were called to the PDSA shop in Merton High Street at 2.30am.
Two nurses had spent three hours trying to release the kitten using liquid paraffin, but called the fire brigade after their attempts proved unsuccessful.
Five firefighters attended the incident and used cutting equipment to free the cat from the cage door.
