If like the royal couple you’re getting to grips with being a new parent, why not give your little one a taste of the great outdoors?

Mum-of-two Eleanor Simmons has brought together her favourite buggy-friendly walks around the countryside in a new book, All-Terrain Pushchair Walks in Surrey.

There are 30 rambles suitable for buggies including a stroll through Banstead Woods, a meander through Epsom Downs and a walk on Epsom Common which crosses into Ashtead Common.

The walk in Banstead takes in farmland and chalk hills, while young children can enjoy watching horses trot in and around Epsom's racecourse, or listen out for woodpeckers and keep an eye open for parakeets on the commons.

Simmons says she was keen to maintain her love of hiking after the birth of her first baby and believes young parents shouldn't be afraid to take young children out into the countryside.

She says: "It's a fun challenge to get outside and children love it. They can toddle along, pick flowers and spot different animals on the route."

Each route has a map, directions and essential information for leisurely ambles along flat towpaths to lung-busting hikes with babies and young children.

All-Terrain Pushchair Walks in Surrey is out now for £8.99. Pick one up from a bookshop or order directly from Sigma Press.
