Three more arrests have been made after a mass brawl in Cobham last weekend.

A man in his 50s, a man in his 20s and a man in his late teens were all arrested on Friday, July 26, on suspicion of affray, assault and criminal damage and remain in police custody.

They were arrested in connection to a large scale fight which took place at about 1.30am on Sunday, July 21 in Hamilton Avenue.

Witnesses said up to 20 people were involved in the brawl, some armed with baseball bats, and it is believed the fight was linked to a disturbance at Cobham Village Club on the evening of Saturday, July 20.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the fight come forward as a matter of urgency.

Three other men were arrested for several offences earlier this week and were released on bail until September 13 while the investigation continues.

Detective Inspector James Norbury, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was a serious incident involving a significant altercation in the street and we are working to establish the exact circumstances leading up to the confrontation in Hamilton Avenue.

“The altercation between the two groups took place in the early hours of the morning in a busy residential area so I feel certain that people in the local area must have seen or heard the fight taking place.

“Although we have made a number of arrests in connection with the incident I still urgently need witnesses to come forward and provide us with the vital information we need to assist with this ongoing investigation.

“Following the incident we have carried out extensive house to house enquiries and increased high visibility patrols in the local area.”

Anyone with information about either of the incidents is asked to call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference EL/13/4854, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
