Police investigating the death of Norbiton resident Warsame Warsame have rebailed a man arrested on suspicion of GBH until next month.

Mr Warsame, 24, was found unconscious on a train travelling between Wimbledon and Raynes Park on March 2 and died in hospital two days later.

British Transport Police (BTP) were trying to establish whether he died as a result of injuries sustained during a fight on a different train earlier that day, or from a pre-existing medical condition caused after a vicious assault inside a nightclub.

They issued an appeal in April asking for a key witness to come forward – a middle-aged woman who boarded the train at Surbiton and stepped in to try to stop the fight.

So far, no one has come forward.

A 24-year-old man from Wallington was arrested on March 16 on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, but has not as yet been charged. A BTP spokeswoman said the man had been rebailed until August 13.
