A piece of Edinburgh is coming to south London this weekend as two comedians perform their Edinburgh Festival shows.

Funnymen Mark Smith and Matt Forde are joining forces to bring a night of comedy to Fairfield Halls this Sunday.

It is the pair's final chance to practice their gags before they head over the border to Scotland, for one of the most talked about arts festivals in the country.

Mark Smith, 28, brings his show ‘The Most Astonishing Name in Comedy’ where a series of funny stories and anecdotes are sure to give the audience the giggles.

Matt Forde who has featured on TV shows Have I Got News For You and Russell Howard’s Good News, is performing his politically slanted show, The Political Party.

Smith, who hails from Derby has also featured on Russell Howard’s Good News and had spots on MTV. It is Smith’s début stand up tour and the comedian says he is looking forward to playing in Croydon for the first time.

Vibe caught up with Mark to talk about his style of comedy, his preview show in Croydon and his slot at the Edinburgh Festival.

He says: "It is really hard to describe what kind of comedy I do as it is a bit like asking what type of person you are. Hopefully it is funny, that is a start.

"I talk about a lot of things I have experienced and things that have happened to me. My show at the moment, because it is based on my own experiences, revolves around me finding it difficult to become an adult.

"Things like practical DIY for example. My dad can fix stuff easily but I can’t do anything of the sort, which isn’t great for future family purposes."

He adds: "The Croydon show is my last one before the festival. I haven’t performed in Croydon before so I am looking forward to it.

"I am returning to Croydon once a month from September I think to MC a comedy gig which should be good. The details are still being finalised on that.

"The festival is a fantastic month, especially if you are into the arts and of course comedy. I am really looking forward to it. If you want to see how a man should not be like at 28 then come along. Also I really need this, so please come."
