Two homes were saved from being engulfed in flames after firefighters battled to keep a shed blaze under control.

Fire crews from Esher and Painshill attended the blaze in Manor Road North, Hinchley Wood, at 10.10pm on Monday, July 8.

The fire began in a shed in a back garden before spreading to a second shed, both of which were completely destroyed.

The fire also caused major damage to a fence, which then caused some damage to two semi-detached properties.

Firefighters from Esher fire station used two hose reels and four sets of breathing apparatus to tackle the flames and were on the scene until shortly after midnight.

The crews also had assistance from a London Fire Service firefighter who lived nearby and stepped in to help them with the water hydrant.

No injuries were sustained in the fire.
