One of Britain’s finest vocal impersonators is hoping to wow audiences with his repertoire of famous voices.

Joe Longthorne, MBE, brings a mixture of classic hit songs and some uncanny impressions to the stage.

The list of voices he can impersonate spans hundreds and Longthorne can mimic some of the world’s top singers.

His best known impression is apparently Shirley Bassey, who even commented "Joe can do me better than I can do myself."

This talented artist began his career over three decades ago with appearances on Junior Showtime, followed by a period on the northern circuit.

His big break came in 1981 when he was a finalist on London Weekend Television’s talent show Search for A Star which lead to appearances at the London Palladium and a season at the West End’s Talk of the Town.

In 1983 The Variety Club of Britain honoured Longthorne with their award for ‘Most Promising Artiste of the Year’. Success continued with numerous TV appearances, resulting in Joe being given his own show.

During his career Longthorne has received gold and platinum discs for his albums, performed at Royal Variety Performances, enjoyed sell-out concerts at the Royal Albert Hall as well as touring Australia several times.

Last year Joe was awarded an MBE for his charity work.
