It was with relief we read in the Croydon Guardian that Croydon Council had listened to the residents of Blenheim Crescent and refused Linda Bowman the right to have a permanent plaque at the place where her daughter was killed.
Our daughter lives in Blenheim Crescent and we as a family do not need to be permanently reminded of the tragic circumstances of September 2005.
It was traumatic enough at the time and hard to accept the floral tributes, balloons and candles that were constantly laid in Blenheim Crescent.
Mrs Bowman and her family have their place to mourn and be reminded of Sally Anne at the cemetery which is the appropriate place. She should now accept the decision made by Croydon Council but most of all respect the wishes of the residents of Blenheim Crescent.
