A man who was stabbed to death on a Kingston estate has been formally identified by police.
Andrew Nichols, 44, of Fordham, Excelsior Close, on the Cambridge Road estate in Kingston, appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday, charged with the murder of a 28-year-old man.
Police have now formally named the victim as Colin Bolton, of Downfield House, Sheephouse Way, New Malden.
Mr Bolton used to live in Ham and attended Richmond College. He was an electrical engineer and worked for UK Safety Management according to his Facebook profile.
He had just changed the relationship status of his profile to “in a relationship” the night before he died.
Mr Bolton died on Monday after being stabbed in the heart inside a flat in Thursley House, on the Kingsnympton estate in Kingston Hill.
A murder inquiry was launched after his death.
Mr Nichols remains in custody and is due to appear for a plea hearing on Wednesday, August 28.
