A lollipop lady, a nurse and a counter-terrorism police sergeant are among the Croydon residents to be rewarded for their dedication in the latest round of Queen's Birthday honours.

Six locals are the among those recognised for service in the latest list, announced today.

It is the second of two Queen's Birthday honours lists this year.

The recipients were:

Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)

Ishika Clarke, of South Norwood. For services to employee engagement and business.

Joan Myers, of South Norwood, a nurse consultant. For services to children and nursing.

George Mills, of South Norwood, a senior policy officer at the Equality and Human Rights Commission. For services to race relations within the criminal justice system.

Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE)

Anthony Dight, of Croydon, a HR business partner at HM Treasury. For public service to the Treasury.

Timothy Hemsley, of South Norwood, a sergeant at Sussex Police. For services to policing and counter-terrorism.

John Mellor, of South Norwood, a service manager at the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service. For services to children, young people and families.

Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM)

June Rixson, of Croydon, a school crossing officer. For services to education and the community in the London Borough of Croydon.
