A group of fundraisers, including former St George’s College pupils, have walked the coastal path of the Isle of Wight in five days.
The group started the 67-mile walk in Ryde on May 25 and returned back after a fast-paced five day walk, all in aid of a charity set up by former pupils of the Weybridge school.
Organiser Kat Freeman, who left St George’s in 1993, said: “It was a great five days walking.
“The coastal path around the island is one of the most varied sponsored walks we have done, through many different beautiful coastal ecosystems.
“We had a lot of support from individual sponsors, St George’s College and corporate sponsorship from drinks firm Folkingtons.”
Weybridge Old Georgians Lourdes Experience (Wogle) hope to raise over £5,000 to continue funding annual trips to accompany sick and disabled people on a week-long pilgrimage to Lourdes.
The year’s trip leaves from St George’s College on July 25 and Wogle currently needs £1,000 more to reach their target.
