Andre Moritz will take his time before deciding whether to stay with Crystal Palace or quit for pastures new this summer.

The Brazilian playmaker is out of contract at Selhurst Park and a decision about his future has yet to be made, with several clubs thought to have registered an interest.

Moritz said after last month’s play-off final win that he would wait to talk to the Eagles first before speaking to anyone else and preliminary discussions are now understood to have taken place between the two parties.

But Moritz is now on holiday back in his homeland visiting family and will decide where his football career goes next when he returns later this month.

“Andre is on holiday with his family at the moment,” said Moritz’s agent Michael Di Stefano.

“He knows what his options are and he is spending time with his family.

“When he gets back he will come forward with what he wants to do.

“We have spoken with Palace and it has been very amicable but they have got a lot to do this summer.

“Andre has had 12 managers in his career and not many 26-year-old footballers have known that many managers.

“He has to think about this decision carefully – does he want to keep changing clubs?

“But he is very calm and enjoying seeing his family for the moment.”

If Palace were to lose Moritz, then they have been linked with plenty of possible players to take his place.

Midfielder Gary O’Neil, released from West Ham United this summer, was born in Beckenham and is understood to favour a return to south London.

Palace manager Ian Holloway is also being linked with four of his former Blackpool players – Tom Ince, Matt Phillips, Ludovic Sylvestre and Alex Baptiste, but it looks like a late bid to snatch striker Amido Balde has failed with the Portuguese U20 international set to join Celtic.

The Eagles meanwhile have sold another 1,000 season tickets in the past week to take their total for next season past 12,000.
