Witnesses are being asked to come forward after the attempted robbery of a woman near Brooklands Industrial Estate in Weybridge.

The victim, in her 30s, was walking along Wellington Way at the junction with Sopwith Drive between 7.40pm and 8pm on Friday, June 7, when she felt someone pull at her bag from behind.

She was punched to the side of her head which caused her to fall to the floor and was kicked while on the ground.

The woman’s mobile phone was broken in the incident but nothing was stolen.

The victim remembers two white men fleeing the scene. One of them had long, light brown sideburns and a spot or birthmark on his cheek.

Officers at Surrey Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area, in particular a number of drivers who drove past the victim.

Detective Constable John Hobbs said: “This woman has been subjected to a nasty, unprovoked attack which has understandably left her extremely shaken.

“She recalls seeing at least two vehicles driving past while she was on the ground and we would urge these drivers to come forward.”

Anyone with any information which could help identify the men should call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference EL/13/3700 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
