Police are hunting for a man wanted in connection with a serious sexual assault and have stepped up patrols in the area.

The attack took place in the early hours of Saturday, June 8, at about 2.30am on Charlmont Road, Tooting, near the junction with Himley Road.

The suspect is described as a black man between 25 and 30, 6ft, with an athletic build.

He was wearing baggy clothing and a dark coloured body warmer.

He was described as having a London accent.

Following the attack police have had an increased presence in the area and at nearby transport hubs such as the railway and underground stations.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at this time and who may have witnessed the offence.
