An elusive peacock is on the loose.
There have been multiple sightings of the exotic bird – mostly in the Sutton Common area – and today it was spotted in Garendon Road on the St Helier estate.
It is not known where the bird has come from.
Pauline Godwin, who spotted the bird this morning, said: “It’s quite friendly. It’s not frightened of you when you come up to it.
"I’m surprised it’s not been run over.”
The Riverside Animal Centre in Beddington has received lots of calls about the Peacock.
However, there is not much they can do to capture the animal as it is fully-flighted.
